Summary of our Skype meeting


Dear all,

Unfortunately not everybody was able to join the meeting due to some technical problems. there were 5 of us (Sirje, Aira, Irina, Liora (could hear us, but we couldn't hear her) and myself).


Here's what we discussed:

1. We decided to work on e-assessment tool, and that it would be Open Badges (OB) - to develop this FA tool to apply to different instructional methods.

Sirje kindly agreed to provide us with the research material on OB in 10 days' time (by 12th of May) and upload it in our working area on the portal.

2. Based on Sirje's summary of the research material, group members will choose 1 instructional method for their institution they would like to apply this FA tool to, and share this with the whole group. we will have about 5-6 instructional methods for which we can use OB as an FA tool. Deadline May 15.

3. Each institutional member will test OB with the instructional method of their choice and write the guidelines/feedback on how it worked (before the end of semester, 31st May).

4. After this we will need to summarize all the work done and draft the final task we are to present as an outcome of our group work (June 30, 2018).

You probably had an effective meeting. Innovative material in the OB field may make it easier for us to choose, and will, for sure, shorten the process of selecting and adapting the tool. The question is, are the tools offered in the OB suitable for the FA only, or are we also required to make also adaption here? I will be happy to review relevant material or information about practical use of these tools.

Thanks a lot for the update. That seems to be a good plan. I think the most important thing is that the Georgian and the Israeli group members found an assessment tool and will find an instructional method they can use for their courses, because your courses are of mayor importance for the implementation.

We are very interested in open batches as well because we are not so familiar with the tool. Please let Julian and me know if we can support you with anything in the following stages. We are looking forward to the materials on the OB.

    Dear colleagues, On Monday, January 21st,  we had a very productive meeting of Goup 1 Georgian Team at Sokhumi State University - Thank you to Lia and Levan for great hosting! Pictures will be uploaded in ASSET FB group. We discussed in detail the workshop plan, it's each step. The finalized draft will be sent to group members for feedback and then sent to Dorit before the deadline. The group members agreed to Sirje's suggestion that each day one team will do the workshop: 1st day at GACE - it will be done by Sirje and Aira (Tallinn team), on the 2nd day - the Israeli Team (Liora and Yasser) will do at Sakhnin,  and on the 3rd day - Georgian team (Izabella, Lia, Levan, Irina, and Diana) will do at Kinneret. Sure all members will be ready to assist in facilitating, if needed. Looking forward to seeing you all in Israel! All the best, Izabella

    We had a Skype meeting tonight with Georgian and Israeli participants: Liora (GACE), Irina (SSU), Lia, Levan (SSU) and myself (TSU). We discussed Sirje's suggestions about organizing the TT workshops. Namely, we agree to the suggestion that Sirje and Aira will facilitate the first workshop at Gordon college, in Haifa and all our group members will also participate in it. On the 2nd day, in Sakhnin, the Georgian team (Izabella, Lia, Levan and Diana) will facilitate the workshop, and on the 3rd day in Kinneret, Liora and Irina will be facilitators. I'll write to Dorit and ask for an extension until January 21 . Meanwhile, we agreed to share our detailed case studies by January 17! The Georgian Team will have a meeting at SSU on Friday, January 18, at 14:00, to finalize the detailed plan. All the best, Izabella
